Term One has come and gone, very quickly it seems!

The terrible events of 22nd February even impacted on our little school, but it actually enhanced the lives of our children as we were privileged to have 9 children from Christchurch with us for varying periods of time. - Children from really large schools, middle sized schools and even Maori Immersion. It was lovely to welcome them here and for a short time help to get their lives on the road to some normality.
We had a really successful jubilee in March and the students took part by producing a musical play based on the history of the school, our CHCH visitors became part of the cast. They really enjoyed the skits presented by the adult ex- pupils!
Term Two: We are off to camp next week, more instalments to follow.

Update: Camp has come and gone! We had a great trip. Climbing the morain wall at the Tasman Glacier gave the children a great view of the glacier lake and all the icebergs.

==Our visit up Mt John to the 'Earth & Sky' telescopes was hi-jacked by a misty, rainy evening. However, the great staff gave the children an interesting evening looking at the 'virtual sky'.IMG_4302.JPG

The staff also came to Lake Tekapo School while we were visiting and gave us an introductory presentation about Matariki.
